The Perfect Gravy

Gravy can sometimes take a regular meal to a whole new level.

Sometimes it’s easy to reach for a package of gravy mix in the pantry but recently I found a tip from professional chefs and that’s to use tea…yes, tea and yes, it does make for great gravy.

Here’s how to use tea to take gravy from okay to fantastic.

Use two tea bags and steep them in about a cup of boiling water for about 15 minutes. When you make the gravy, add this water to juices from the pan or if you’re making gravy from say sauteed vegetables, add it along with the stock or water and then thicken the mixture with flour or cornstarch mixed with a little of the tea water.
